Legacy was written after a series of research visits to West Bromwich. Our essays, rooted in the experience of West Bromwich, explore the end of market-led regeneration. We are looking at the legacy of the last decade and ahead to some of the challenges ahead for urban development, which are common to towns and cities around the UK. We perceive and interpret events through the lens of West Bromwich but we could be discussing similar buildings, projects and patterns in any town, from Teesside to Portsmouth, Dundee or Salford.
