Representations of Nature in Urban Contexts
Ambach, Markus / translation: Christoph Wilde / Berlin 2009
More than ever cityscapes are defined by specific uses. The city’s structural grid obscures political hierarchies, cultural imprints and the demands for representation constituting them. European metropolises are moulded by their religious history and in particular by those economic positions of Christianity which, originating in the reformation and protestantism, were finally secularized in the capitalist era.
